ABILITY LEVELS
Our squad uses 3-4 lanes in the mornings and 2-3 lanes in the evenings allowing us to cater to different ability levels. To swim in the beginner lane you should be able to swim at least 400m non-stop under 10mins. We cater from beginners through to advanced swimmers. Our advanced swimmers can hold 1.15 - 1.20s per 100m over longer distances. Please contact Spencer if you have any questions regarding your ability level and suitability for squad. WHAT
Six weekly Swim Squads designed by FutureDreams Swimming that cater for both the serious and recreational triathlete or swimmer. Our swim squads train at the Parnell Baths over the entire summer offering you the chance to train in this unique and historic 60m outdoor pool plus do it in your wetsuit. What better way to get fit, enjoy some social or serious swimming, and get your salt water swimming mastered. Please note that while you are more than welcome to join us at every session, you are not required (or expected) to be at every session. Most swimmers in our squad have to balance their swimming with other commitments. It is perfectly acceptable to join us for just mornings, just evenings or a mixture of both. Having a pass that allows you to swim at six different time slots during the week gives you the flexibility of swimming at a time that fits in with your schedule.

WHY
We train at the Parnell Baths because it is arguably the most scenic pool NZ has to offer. The 60m length allows us to cover a lot of distance without the interruption of tumbleturns, perfect for swimmers training for the open water. The long pool means that even though we get good numbers in each morning (usually 6 - 8 a lane), you almost never have to lap anyone, or get caught in any traffic. The cold water allows us to train wearing wetsuits - which is key for swimmers training for events where they will be wearing wetsuits. We are similarly minded swimmers, all there with goals to improve swimming ability and keen to do so in a friendly, enthusiastic environment. We are there becuase it is affordable! The squad fees plus pool entry fees work out to be very competitive when comparing to squads around Auckland (saving you triathletes money so you can spend it on carbon bikes and other toys!) If these reasons are not enough, then surely the spa at the end of a good hard session before work (or after work) with the sun beating down overhead is all that is needed to push you over the edge!
